Myofascial Energetic Release

Key Components of MER:

Myofascial Release
Gentle, sustained pressure is applied to fascial restrictions to release tension and improve mobility.

Deep Tissue and Structural Work
MER uses deep, slow strokes to realign the body’s structure and improve posture and movement patterns.

Breathwork
Clients are often guided to breathe deeply and consciously during the session to help release tension and increase awareness.

Energetic Awareness
Practitioners are trained to recognize and work with subtle energy flows in the body, helping to release emotional or energetic holding patterns.

Movement and Integration
Some sessions may involve guided movement or body awareness exercises to integrate changes and retrain the nervous system.

Emotional Release
Because trauma and emotions can be stored in fascia, clients may experience emotional releases (e.g., crying, laughter, insight) during or after sessions.

Benefits of MER:

Reduces chronic pain and muscle tension

Improves posture and flexibility

Enhances body awareness and emotional wellbeing

Supports trauma recovery and stress relief

Improves energy flow and vitality

Reiki -

Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word "Reiki" comes from two Japanese words:

"Rei" meaning "universal"

"Ki" meaning "life energy" (similar to "chi" in Chinese or "prana" in Indian traditions)

What Happens During a Reiki Session:

A Reiki practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above a person's body.

The goal is to channel energy to help activate the natural healing processes of the body and restore physical and emotional well-being.

Sessions are usually quiet, relaxing, and meditative. The recipient may lie on a massage table fully clothed.

Key Beliefs in Reiki:

Illness and stress are linked to blockages or imbalances in the body's energy.

Reiki helps to clear and balance that energy.

It is often used as a complementary therapy alongside medical treatment

Deep tissue massage is a type of therapeutic massage that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It’s particularly helpful for treating chronic aches and pains, muscle tightness, and injury-related issues.

Key Features of Deep Tissue Massage:

Pressure:

Uses firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).

It’s typically more intense than a relaxation or Swedish massage.

Purpose:

Designed to break down scar tissue and adhesions (knots) that can disrupt circulation and cause pain or inflammation.

Helps improve range of motion and promote healing in injured muscles.

 What to Expect:

Some discomfort is normal, especially if there’s a lot of tension.

It’s important to communicate with your therapist to ensure the pressure is not too much.

You may feel sore for a day or two afterward similar to how you might feel after a tough workout. You'll lie on a massage table and be covered with a sheet or towel.

The therapist will uncover only the part of the body they are working

The treatment can last between 30-90 minutes and can include the back, neck, legs and buttocks depending on the client's preference and time allowed

Benefits:

Reduces muscle tension and chronic pain

Improves blood flow and lowers inflammation

Aids recovery from injuries

Enhances mobility and flexibility
