Reiki
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word "Reiki" comes from two Japanese words:
"Rei" meaning "universal"
"Ki" meaning "life energy" (similar to "chi" in Chinese or "prana" in Indian traditions)
Key Features of Reiki:
Purpose:
Illness and stress are believed to be linked to blockages or imbalances in the body's energy.
Reiki helps to clear and balance that energy.
It is often used as a complementary therapy alongside medical treatment
Benefits:
Promotes relaxation
Reduce stress and anxiety
Alleviate pain
Release emotional blockages- creating a sense of stability and balance
Improve sleep
What to expect:
A Reiki practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above a person's body.
The goal is to channel energy to help activate the natural healing processes of the body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Sessions are usually quiet, relaxing, and meditative. The recipient will lie on a massage table fully clothed.

Key Features of Deep Tissue Massage:
Pressure:
Uses firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).
It’s typically more intense than a relaxation or Swedish massage.
Purpose:
Designed to break down scar tissue and adhesions (knots) that can disrupt circulation and cause pain or inflammation.
Helps improve range of motion and promote healing in injured muscles.
Benefits:
Reduces muscle tension and chronic pain
Improves blood flow and lowers inflammation
Aids recovery from injuries
Enhances mobility and flexibility
What to Expect:
Some discomfort is normal, especially if there’s a lot of tension.
It’s important to communicate with your therapist to ensure the pressure is not too much.
You may feel sore for a day or two afterward similar to how you might feel after a tough workout. You'll lie on a massage table and be covered with a sheet or towel.
The therapist will uncover only the part of the body they are working
The treatment can last between 30-90 minutes and can include the back, neck, legs and buttocks depending on the client's preference and time allowed
